Air Cleaner Housing: Description and Operation

Air Cleaner

The air cleaner assembly filters intake air to prevent contamination of internal engine components. It is located in the left front area of the engine
compartment.
Intake air is ducted from the air intake duct into the bottom of the air cleaner case. To reduce intake noise, a resonator is employed beneath the filter
element. The filter element is a dry, replaceable paper type. Filtered air enters the upper air cleaner case and is ducted through an additional resonator to
the intake manifold.
