Starting Air Valve: Description and Operation
Air Boost Valve
The air boost valve supplies additional air to the intake manifold during engine cranking to aid engine starting. It is located at the front of the intake
manifold to the left of the throttle body.
The air boost valve is normally held in the open position by a diaphragm spring. Once the engine has started, manifold vacuum acting on the diaphragm
overcomes the diaphragm spring pressure and closes the valve.
