Oil Pressure Gauge: Testing and Inspection
NOTE: Refer to engine oil pressure gauge circuit.
1. Before testing, check the No. 5 (15 A) fuse in the under-dash fuse box.
Engine Oil Pressure Gauge-Gauge Test
2. Make sure the ignition switch is OFF, then disconnect the 2P connector from the engine oil pressure sending unit, and ground it with a jumper
wire.
3. Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
Check that the pointer of the engine oil pressure gauge starts moving toward the "8" mark.
CAUTION: Turn the ignition switch OFF before the pointer reaches the "8" mark on the gauge dial; if you don't, you may cause damage to the
gauge.

If the pointer of the gauge does not move at all, check for:

An open in the YEL or BLU/WHT wire.

Replace the engine oil pressure gauge if the wiring is OK.

If the engine oil pressure gauge is OK, go on to step 4.
4. Check the engine' oil pressure (See Engine Lubrication).

If the engine oil pressure is OK, replace the engine oil pressure sending unit.
