Creaking From the Removable Roof, the Seat Panels, or the Door Glass 
(Supersedes 95-015, Creaking From the Removable Roof, dated August 29, 1995)

BACKGROUND [NEW]

Because of its removable roof, the body of the NSX-T will flex more than NSX models with fixed roofs. This may create noise between the body and the
root, since the roof is not intended to be rigidly attached to the body. The mating surfaces between the roof and the body must always be kept clean and
lightly lubricated to minimize roof-to-body noise.

PROBLEM

Creaking from the roof or near the roof.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

[NEW]
Depending on the model year, the VIN and the source of the creak, up to three procedures may be needed:

On 1995 vehicles thru VIN JH4NA1...ST000781, inspect the hook stops. If the old style hook stops are installed, replace them with the new style
hook stops listed under PARTS INFORMATION.

Lubricate the roof lock pins, the roof seals, and the seat panels. (Most of the creaking noise is caused by dust on the roof seals. These seals should be
cleaned and lubricated every three to six months.)

Check the door glass, and adjust the guides and stops if necessary.
