Amber Brake System Indicator Is On With DTC P16D9
SYMPTOM
The amber brake system indicator (electric vacuum pump indicator) is on, and DTC P16D9 (powertrain control module [PCM] internal circuit
malfunction) is stored.
PROBABLE CAUSE
The PCM misinterprets electric vacuum pump feedback as a problem with the electric vacuum pump system.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Update the PGM-FI software with the HDS.

2.018.016 (July 2009) (aqua) or later.
Control Module (CM) Update:
Application Version V6.17.08 or later.
Database Update 24-JUN-2009 or later.
