Engine - Coolant Temperature Sensor/Switch: Service and Repair
ECT Sensor 1 Replacement
ECT Sensor 1 Replacement
1. Drain the engine coolant See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Cooling System/Coolant/Service and Repair.
2. Remove the air cleaner See: Engine, Cooling and Exhaust/Engine/Tune-up and Engine Performance Checks/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and
Repair.
3. Remove the charge air cooler See: Powertrain Management/Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Turbocharger/Intercooler/Service and Repair.
4. Remove the ignition coil cover (A) and bolt (B).
5. Disconnect the ignition coil connectors (C), CMP sensor A connector (D), CMP sensor B connector (E), and the EVAP canister purge valve
connector (F).
6. Remove the harness holder (G).
NOTE: Be careful not to damage the ECT sensor 1 harness.
7. Disconnect the ECT sensor 1 connector (A).
