7. Shift the shift lever into P, and check for continuity between the park pin switch/A/T gear position indicator panel light 6P connector terminals No.
1 and No. 2. There should be no continuity.
8. Shift out of P, and check for continuity between the connector terminals No. 1 and No. 2. There should be continuity.
9. If the park pin switch tests OK, check for an open or short in park pin switch wires.
If the park pin switch does not perform as specified, do the shift lock troubleshooting See: Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Shift Interlock/Testing and
Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/A/T Interlock System - Shift Lock System Circuit Troubleshooting, if the circuit is OK, replace
the park pin switch See: Service and Repair.
