Trunk / Liftgate Latch: Service and Repair

Trunk Lid Latch Replacement

NOTE:  Put on gloves to protect your hands.

1. Remove these items:

-

Trunk rear trim panel

-

Trunk side trim panel, right side

2. Remove the bolts (A), then remove the trunk inside lever (B) from the body. Take care not to kink the opener cable.
3. Disconnect the trunk lid opener cables (A, B) from the joint bushings (C). Take care not to kink the opener cables.

NOTE:  Check the bushing for damage, and replace if necessary.

4. Disconnect the actuator connector (A), then remove the connector clip (B). Remove the trunk lid opener cable (C) from the clip (D) on the body.

Take care not to kink the opener cable.

5. Remove the bolts (E) and loosen the bolt (F), then remove the latch.
