Trunk / Liftgate Latch Release Cable: Service and Repair
Trunk Lid Opener Cable Replacement
NOTE:
-
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
-
Take care not to scratch the body and related parts.
1. Remove these items: See: Trunk / Liftgate Interior Trim Panel/Service and Repair/Interior Trim Removal/Installation - Trunk Area

Spare tire lid
-
Trunk rear trim panel
-
Trunk front trim panel
-
Trunk side trim panel, right side
-
Trunk upper trim panel
2. Disconnect the trunk lid opener cable from the trunk inside lever. See: Trunk / Liftgate Latch/Service and Repair
3. Remove the trunk lid opener cable (A) and the clip (B) from the opener cable bracket (C).
4. Use a clip remover to release the clip (D). Remove the cushion tapes (E).
5. Remove the trunk lid opener cable from the vehicle. Take care not to kink the cable.
6. Install the opener cable in the reverse order of removal, and note these items:

Align the marks (A) on the opener cable (B) with the cable clips (C) as shown.

If the clips are damaged or stress-whitened, replace them with new ones.

Push the clips into place securely.
