Yaw Rate Sensor: Service and Repair
VSA System Yaw Rate-Lateral/Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor Replacement
NOTE:

Do not damage or drop the sensor as it is sensitive.

Do not use power tools.
1. Make sure the ignition switch is in LOCK (0).
2. Remove the center console side panel. See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Removal and

3. Remove the center console panel. See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Center

4. Remove the shift lever mounting bolts. See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Shifter A/T/Service and
Repair/Removal and Replacement/A/T Shift Lever Removal
NOTE: Only remove items needed to gain access.
5. Remove the yaw rate-lateral/longitudinal acceleration sensor bracket attachment bolts, and then disconnect the sensor connector (A).
6. Pull out the yaw rate-lateral/longitudinal acceleration sensor bracket (B) with the yaw rate-lateral/longitudinal acceleration sensor.
7. Remove the sensor mounting bolts, and then separate the sensor (C) from the bracket.
8. Install the sensor in the reverse order of removal.
9. Do the VSA sensor neutral position memorization. See: Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Programming and
Relearning
10. Do the SH-AWD yaw rate-lateral/longitudinal acceleration sensor neutral position memorization procedure. See: Powertrain
