Thermostat: Service and Repair
Thermostat Replacement
1. Do the battery removal procedure. See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement
2. Drain the engine coolant. See: Coolant/Service and Repair
3. Remove the thermostat cover, then remove the thermostat.
4. Install the thermostat with a new rubber seal and with the pin on the top side.
5. Do the battery installation procedure. See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement
6. Refill the radiator with engine coolant, See: Coolant/Service and Repair then bleed the air from the cooling system.
7. Clean up any spilled engine coolant.
