A/T Output Shaft (Countershaft) Speed Sensor Replacement

A/T Output Shaft (Countershaft) Speed Sensor Replacement

1. Do the battery removal procedure.  See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement

2. Remove the air cleaner.  See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair

3. Remove the battery base.

4. Disconnect the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor connector, and remove the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor (A).

5. Install the new O-ring (B) on the new output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor, then install the output shaft (countershaft) speed sensor.

6. Check the connector for rust, dirt, or oil, then connect the connector securely.

7. Install the battery base.

8. Install the air cleaner.  See: Fuel Delivery and Air Induction/Air Cleaner Housing/Service and Repair

9. Do the battery installation procedure.  See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement
