Tire Pressure Monitor Receiver / Transponder: Service and Repair
TPMS Initiator Replacement
Front
NOTE: Make sure the initiator mounting bracket is not bent or twisted as this may affect its communication with the TPMS control unit and the tire
pressure sensor.
1. Make sure the ignition switch is in LOCK (0).
2. Raise the front of the vehicle, and support it with safety stands in the proper locations. See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair
3. Remove the front wheel.
4. Remove the front inner fender. See: Body and Frame/Fender/Front Fender/Front Fender Liner/Service and Repair/Front Inner Fender
Replacement
5. Disconnect the initiator connector (A).
6. Remove the initiator (B) from the bracket.
7. Install the initiator in the reverse order of removal.
Rear
1. Make sure the ignition switch is in LOCK (0).
2. Raise the rear of the vehicle, and support it with safety stands in the proper locations. See: Maintenance/Vehicle Lifting/Service and Repair
3. Remove the rear wheel.
4. Remove the rear inner fender cover. See: Body and Frame/Fender/Rear Fender/Rear Fender Liner/Service and Repair
5. Disconnect the initiator connector (A).
6. Remove the initiator (B) from the inner side of the wheel well.
7. Install the initiator in the reverse order of removal.
