6. Align the bolt hole (A) on the steering joint with the groove (B) around the pinion shaft, and loosely install the joint bolt (C). Make sure that the
joint bolt is securely in the groove in the pinion shaft. Tighten the steering joint bolt to the specified torque.
7. Pull the steering joint fully towards the steering column shaft side, then tighten the steering joint bolt (D) to the specified torque.
8. Install the steering joint cover (A).
9. Install the driver's airbag assembly See: Restraint Systems/Air Bag Systems/Air Bag/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Driver's
Airbag Replacement and the steering wheel. See: Steering Wheel/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Steering Wheel Installation
10. Install the driver's dashboard undercover. See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and
Repair/Driver's Dashboard Undercover Removal/Installation
11. Install the driver's dashboard lower cover. See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Dashboard / Instrument Panel/Service and
Repair/Driver's Dashboard Lower Cover Removal/Installation
12. Do the battery terminal reconnection procedure, See: Starting and Charging/Battery/Service and Repair/Procedures and do these tasks:

Turn the ignition switch to ON (II); the SRS indicator should come on for about 6 seconds and then go off.

Make sure the horn and the turn signal switches work properly.

Make sure the steering wheel switches work properly.
13. After installation, do these checks:

Check the steering wheel spoke angle. If the steering spoke angles to the right and left are not equal (steering wheel and rack are not centered),
correct the engagement of the joint/column shaft serrations.

Do the VSA sensor neutral position memorization. See: Brakes and Traction Control/Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Testing and
