Power Steering Pump Speed Sensor: Service and Repair
Replacement
1. Disconnect the VSS connector from the power steering speed sensor.
2. Remove the sensor mounting bolt, then remove the power steering speed sensor from the differential housing.
3. Disconnect the sensor inlet and outlet hoses, and plug the hose fittings.
4. Installation is the reverse of the removal procedure.
5. After installing a new sensor, turn the steering wheel lock-to-lock with the engine idling to bleed air from the system.
6. Check the reservoir, and add fluid if necessary.
