SYMPTOM
The MIL is on with DTC P0973 (short in shift solenoid valve A circuit).
PROBABLE CAUSE
Contamination on the contact area of the solenoid causes a short to ground.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Replace shift solenoid A.
