MIL Comes On With DTC P0128

SYMPTOM

The MIL is on and DTC P0128 (cooling system malfunction) is set.

PROBABLE CAUSE

The ECM/PCM incorrectly calculates the engine coolant temperature.

CORRECTIVE ACTION

Update the ECM/PCM software from the ACURALINK CD (March 2002 version or later).

REPAIR PROCEDURE

1.

Use the PGM Tester to clear the DTC.

2.

If not already done, load the ACURALINK CD (March 2002 version or later) onto your ACURALINK master terminal. Loading instructions are
included with the CD.

3.

Use the Honda Interface Module (HIM) to update the ECM/PCM software. For updating instructions, refer to "PROGRAMMING THE HIM
AND UPDATING AN ECM/PCM" in S/B 01-026, Using the Honda Interface Module (HIM) to Update the ECM/PCM, found under Tools.
