Hydraulic Control Assembly - Antilock Brakes: Service and Repair
Models With 4-Wheel ABS
1. Disconnect electrical connectors from unit.
2. Remove upper battery hold-down bracket.
3. Disconnect brake lines from unit, then cap ends to prevent entry of foreign material.
4. Disconnect hydraulic unit ground lead, then remove front retaining bracket.
5. Remove nuts retaining unit, then hydraulic unit from vehicle.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Torque hydraulic unit retaining nuts to 16 ft. lbs.
b. Torque front retaining bracket and ground lead to 17 ft. lbs.
c. Torque brake lines to 9 ft. lbs.
d. After completing installation, bleed brake system thoroughly.
