Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect vacuum hose from booster, then disconnect brake lines and remove master cylinder. Do not pull booster piston from booster.

2. Remove vacuum hose, Fig. 6.
3. Disconnect yoke clevis from brake pedal.
4. Loosen booster mounting nuts, then remove the booster.
5. Inspect check valve as follows:
a. Air should pass freely from the vacuum booster to the engine.
b. Air should not pass from engine to vacuum booster. If it does, check valve is defective and must be replaced.
