Evaporator Temperature Sensor / Switch: Description and Operation
A/C Thermo Sensor
If the air conditioning compressor's temperature rises above 160 ± 50° (320 ± 90° F), the A/C thermo sensor will open, disengaging the A/C compressor
clutch. The A/C thermo sensor will close and power will be reapplied to the clutch when the temperature falls below 135 ± 50° C (275 ± 90° F).
