Low Fuel Lamp/Indicator: Description and Operation
The resistance of the fuel tank unit varies according to the float position in the fuel tank. When the fuel tank has an adequate amount of fuel, the low fuel
indicator light circuit is open and the indicator light will not come ON. When the fuel level drops to almost empty, the circuit closes and current flows
through the fuel tank unit and turns ON the low fuel warning light to alert the driver.
