Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Service and Repair
EVAP CANISTER
Removal Procedure
1. Disconnect the vapor hose from the EVAP canister.
2. Disconnect the vacuum sensor from the bracket.
3. Disconnect the check and relief valve from the bracket.
4. Open the latch and remove the EVAP canister from the bracket.
Inspection Procedure

Check the canister housing for cracks or other evidence of possible leaks.

Check the vapor hoses for cracks, splits, kinks, deterioration, or any damage which could cause a leak.

Check the vapor hose routing to ensure that the lines do not run too close to any moving or hot parts of the vehicle.
Installation Procedure
1. Install the EVAP canister in the bracket and close the latch.
2. Connect the check and relief valve to the bracket.
3. Connect the vacuum sensor to the bracket.
4. Connect the vapor hose to the EVAP canister.
