Relay Box: Service and Repair
SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations, precautions, and procedures in the SRS section before performing
repairs or service.
Removal:
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft code for the radio, then write down the frequencies for the radio's preset buttons.
2. Disconnect the battery negative cable, then disconnect the positive cable, and wait at least three minutes.
3. '95 - 96 models: Connect the short connectors (RED) to the airbag side of the connectors.
Driver's Side:
^ Remove the access panel from the steering wheel, then remove the short connector (RED) from the panel.
Under-dash Fuse/Relay Box-Removal/Installation
^ Disconnect the 2P connector between the driver's airbag and cable reel.
Front Passenger's Side:
^ Remove the glove box.
NOTE: Before removing the glove box, remove the glove box damper.
Under-dash Fuse/Relay Box-Removal/Installation
^ Disconnect the front passenger's airbag 3P connector from the SRS main harness, then connect the short connector (RED) to the front
passenger's airbag 3P connector.
4. Remove the driver's foot rest.
