Intake Air Temperature Sensor: Description and Operation

DESCRIPTION AND OPERATION

The IAT Sensor is a temperature dependent resistor (thermistor) built into the MAF sensor. The resistance of the thermistor decreases as the intake
air temperature increases as shown below.
