Hood Latch Release Cable: Service and Repair
Hood Opener Cable Replacement
NOTE:
-
Put on gloves to protect your hands.
-
Take care not to scratch the body and related pants.
1. Remove these items:

Right side engine compartment cover
-
Left side engine compartment cover
-
Front bulkhead cover
-
Front fender trim, left side
-
Front inner fender, left side as necessary
-Kick panel, left side
2. Disconnect the hood opener cable (A) from the hood latch (B).
3. Using a clip remover, detach the clips (C), and remove the grommet (D) from the body, then remove the hood opener cable from the vehicle. Take
care not to bend the cable.
4. Install the cable in the reverse order of removal, and check for damaged or stress-whitened clips, and replace them with new ones.
