Gear Lockout Solenoid: Service and Repair
Reverse Lockout Solenoid Disassembly/Reassembly
1. Lay the fender cover over the fender, then remove the left rear engine compartment cover (A) and the left side engine compartment cover (B).
2. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the radio and the navigation system, then write down the customer's XM radio channel presets. Make
sure the ignition switch is OFF. Disconnect the negative (-) cable first, then the positive (+) cable from the battery. Remove the battery.
3. Remove the air cleaner housing.
4. Remove the battery base.
5. Carefully remove the shift cable, select cable, and cable bracket together to avoid bending the cables.
6. Disconnect the reverse lockout solenoid connector.
7. Remove the bolts (A), transmission harness stay (B), and reverse lockout solenoid assembly (C).
