DIAGNOSIS
1. Drive the vehicle over bumps or rough roads, and listen for a squeak or rattle coming from under the seat.
2. Park the vehicle. With the palm of your hand, hit the top of the seat at the front, the back, and either side. Listen for a squeak or rattle coming from
under the seat.

If you hear a squeak or rattle when driving the vehicle or hitting the seat, go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.

If you don't hear a squeak or rattle under these conditions, this bulletin does not apply. Continue with normal troubleshooting.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Make sure you have the anti-theft codes for the audio system and the navigation system (if equipped). Write down the presets for the XM(R) Satellite
Radio (if equipped).
2. Disconnect the negative cable from the battery, then wait at least 3 minutes before beginning work.
3. Remove the front passenger's seat:

Refer to the Body section of the appropriate service manual, or

Online, enter keyword SEAT, and select Front Seat Removal/Installation from the list.
4. Separate the seat tracks from the front passenger's weight sensors:

Using a TORX 130 bit, remove the two 6 x 22 tamper-resistant TORX bolts.

Using a TORX 140 bit, remove the four 8 x 19 tamper-resistant TORX bolts.*
