Parking Brake Lever: Service and Repair
Parking Brake Lever Replacement
1. Release the parking brake lever fully.
2. Remove the center console See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Center
Console Removal/Installation.
3. Remove the RF unit 1 (if equipped) See: Accessories and Optional Equipment/Antitheft and Alarm Systems/Keyless Entry/Keyless Entry
Receiver/Service and Repair/Keyless Access RF Unit 1 Replacement (With Keyless Access System).
4. Remove the parking brake lever mount bolts (A).
5. Disconnect the parking brake cables (B) from the equalizer (C), then remove the parking brake lever (D).
6. Remove the parking brake switch (E).
7. Install the parking brake lever in the reverse order of removal.
NOTE: Do not scratch the coating on the link cable while handling and assembling the parking brake lever.
8. Adjust the parking brake See: Adjustments.
