Electrical Compass Zone Selection and Calibration
Set the compass zone
NOTE:
-
Do this procedure any time the electrical compass unit is replaced.

Do this procedure in an open area away from buildings, power lines, and other vehicles.

If you see "--" in the compass display and the CAL indicator is shown in the display, the compass is self-calibrating.

The compass may need to be manually calibrated after exposure to a strong magnetic field. If the compass seems to be continually showing the
wrong direction and is not self-calibrating, do the following procedure.

In most areas, there is a variation between magnetic north and true north. The compass zone needs to be set to your geographic zone to
compensate for this variation.
1. Check the No. 15 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box and the No. 12 (7.5 A) and No. 18 (7.5 A) fuses in the driver's under-dash
fuse/relay box.
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), then press and hold the SET UP button (A) on the audio panel for about 5 seconds until you hear a beep. The
display shows the compass setting menu items.
3. Find your zone number in the map shown.
4. Turn the selector knob (A) to select ZONE, then press the knob to enter the selection. The display shows the currently selected zone number.
