14. Connect the Honda Diagnostic System (HDS) to the data link connector (DLC) See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control
Systems/Testing and Inspection/Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
15. Press the engine start/stop button to select the ON mode.
16. Make sure the HDS communicates with the vehicle and the engine control module (ECM). If it does not communicate, go to the DLC circuit
troubleshooting See: Powertrain Management/Computers and Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Component Tests and General
Diagnostics/DLC Circuit Troubleshooting.
17. Select GAUGES MENU in the BODY ELECTRICAL with the HDS.
18. Select ADJUSTMENT in the GAUGES MENU with the HDS.
19. Select MAINTENANCE MINDER in the ADJUSTMENT with the HDS.
20. Select RESET in the MAINTENANCE MINDER with the HDS.
21. Select RESETTING THE MTF LIFE with the HDS.
