Shift Interlock Solenoid: Service and Repair

Shift Lock Solenoid Replacement

NOTE: Make sure not to get any silicone grease on the terminal part of the connectors and switches, especially if you have silicone grease on your hands
or gloves.

1. Remove the shift lever assembly  See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Shifter A/T/Service and Repair/Removal

and Replacement/A/T Shift Lever Removal.

2. Release the lock tabs retaining the shift lock solenoid using thin-bladed screwdrivers.

3. Insert a 6 mm pin (A), and push the shift lock solenoid (B) out.

4. Disconnect the shift lock solenoid connector (C).
