2. Swap the rear tires with known-good tires, then test-drive the vehicle.
Do you hear a howl or growl from the rear wheel(s)?
Yes - Go to REPAIR PROCEDURE.
No - This service bulletin does not apply. Replace the rear tires (if authorized by the client), then troubleshoot the tire wear problem.
REPAIR PROCEDURE
1. Raise the vehicle on a lift.
2. Remove the wheel nuts and the rear wheel.
3. Remove the brake hose mounting bracket, the brake caliper bracket mounting bolts, and the brake caliper.
NOTE:
To avoid brake hose and brake caliper damage, use a short piece of wire to hang the caliper from the undercarriage.
4. Remove the brake disc flat screws, then remove the brake disc from the hub.
NOTE:
If the brake disc is stuck to the hub, thread two 8 x 1.25 mm bolts into the brake disc to push it away from the hub. Turn each bolt 90 degrees at a
time to prevent the brake disc from binding.
