Shift Interlock Solenoid: Service and Repair
Shift Lock Solenoid Replacement
NOTE: Make sure not to get any silicone grease on the terminal part of the connectors and switches, especially if you have silicone grease on your hands
or gloves.
1. Remove the shift lever knob See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Shifter A/T/Service and Repair/Overhaul/A/T
Shift Lever Knob Replacement.
2. Remove the center console See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Center
Console Removal/Installation.
3. Remove the shift lever assembly See: Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Shifter A/T/Service and Repair/Removal
and Replacement/A/T Shift Lever Removal.
4. Release the lock tabs retaining the shift lock solenoid using thin-bladed screwdrivers.
5. Insert a 6.0 mm (0.236 in) pin (A), and push the shift lock solenoid (B) out.
