Shift Interlock Switch: Testing and Inspection
Park Pin Switch Test
1. Remove the center console panel See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Center
Console Panel Removal/Installation.
2. Disconnect the 6P connector (A) from the A/T shift lock solenoid/park pin switch/A/T gear position indicator panel light connector (B).
3. Check for continuity between terminals No. 1 and No. 2.

There should be continuity when the shift lever is moved out of P.

There should be no continuity when the shift lever is moved to P.
4. If the continuity is not as specified, replace the park pin switch See: Powertrain Management/Transmission Control Systems/Testing and
Inspection/Component Tests and General Diagnostics/Shift Lock Solenoid Test.
