Shift Cable: Service and Repair
A/T Shift Cable Replacement
1. Move the shift lever to R.
2. Remove the shift lever knob See: Shifter A/T/Service and Repair/Overhaul/A/T Shift Lever Knob Replacement.
3. Remove the A/T shift panel See: Shifter A/T/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/A/T Shift Panel Replacement.
4. Release the lock tab (A) using a screwdriver, and remove the A/T gear position indicator (B).
5. Remove the center console See: Body and Frame/Interior Moulding / Trim/Console/Service and Repair/Removal and Replacement/Center
Console Removal/Installation.
6. Remove the nut (A) securing the shift cable end (B).
7. Unlock the retainer lock (A).
