Removing and Clevis Adjusting Brake Servo

Hydraulic brake servo, removing

Note 
Before disconnecting the pressure line at the brake servo:

^

be sure engine is OFF

^

reduce operating pressure by applying brake pedal 20 times, or until pedal-feel hardens

^

remove battery GND (Ground) strap

^

remove strainer from brake fluid reservoir

^

suction out brake fluid from fluid reservoir

WARNING 
Brake fluid is poisonous.

CAUTION 
Brake fluid is corrosive to painted parts.

^

vehicles with manual transmission ONLY:

^

remove hose (for clutch master cylinder) from brake fluid reservoir

^

disconnect brake fluid level warning sensor

^

remove brake fluid reservoir carefully

disconnect brake lines (arrows) at brake master cylinder
^

seal openings of brake lines and brake master cylinder with plugs

^

disconnect brake master cylinder from brake servo

^

remove brake master cylinder

^

disconnect return line 1 at brake servo
