Ambient Temperature Sensor / Switch HVAC: Testing and Inspection
TEST CONDITIONS
-
Fuses OK (check according to wiring diagram.
-
Ambient temperature above 10° C (50° F).
-
Engine at normal operating temperature.
-
Vehicle not parked in direct sunlight.
Use Chart 3 to determine calculated outside temperature.
Example: If Channels 4 or 5 display a code of 73 on Control head, calculated temperature according to Chart 3 is 86°F (30°C).
NOTE:
The diagnostic value displayed on Channels 4 and 5 may stay at 128 if fault is with the sensor.
