To alleviate difficult engagement of 2nd gear when transmission is cold, a new synchronizer ring and retaining springs are available.

For transmissions built prior to No. ...17 09 2 install synchronizer ring with spiral grooves, Part No. 014 311 295E and retaining springs (2), Part No.
014 311 311E. Follow repair procedures as outlined in the repair manual microfiche.
