Parking Brake System: Adjustments
Parking Brake Adjust

1. Ensure parking brake cable is not under tension as follows:

Brake Caliper With Parking Brake Lever

a. Press parking brake levers alternately against their stops with screwdriver.

Brake Caliper With Lever Stop

b. If parking brake lever on opposite caliper is pulled away from stop, cable is under tension.

2. If cable is under tension, proceed as follows:

Parking Brake Adjusting Nut

a. Loosen parking brake cable adjusting nut until both levers contact stop.
b. Depress brake pedal with moderate force approximately 40 times.
c. Ensure both wheels rotate freely.

3. Tighten parking brake cable adjusting nut.
4. Tighten nuts at calipers until both caliper brake levers just move away from stop.
