Cold Start Injector: Testing and Inspection
Electrical Test

Cold start valve, checking

Work sequence

-

Unplug connector from cold start valve (arrow)

-

Using LED test light US-1115, connect red test lead to terminal 1 and black test lead to terminal 2 of open cold start valve connector

Note:  Cold start valve operates for only approx. 10 seconds

Initiate output diagnosis sequence until code 4443 for cold start valve is displayed

Specification: LED of US 1115 must be ON

If LED is ON

-

Replace cold start valve

If LED is NOT ON

-

Connect voltmeter between terminal 1 of cold start valve connector and ground

Specification: approx. 12V 

If voltage reading NOT OK

-

Check for open circuit in wiring according to current flow diagram

If voltage reading OK

-

Remove cover for control unit located in front passenger side footwell
