Brakes ^ Steering
The hydraulic reservoir system must be cleaned whenever any hydraulic system component is replaced or if the reservoir system is contaminated.
CAUTION
Do not use solvent which could damage rubber hoses or seals when cleaning the hydraulic system components.
Use only clean solvent.
^
pump brake pedal 20-25 times (until pedal becomes hard) to bleed accumulator
^
remove return line from hydraulic brake servo to reservoir at servo (arrow A)
^
remove clamp from steering gear return hose at reservoir and carefully pull hose off (arrow B)
^
remove nuts/washers fastening reservoir bracket to engine compartment panel
^
pull reservoir assembly out toward front of vehicle
Note
The bracket can remain on the reservoir to reduce the possibility of breakage.
