Troubleshooting Tip:

Many of the electrical checks that require test adaptors, for example the VW 1501 for the airflow sensor potentiometer, can now be checked using just
one adaptor; the VAG 1598 test box.

The VAG 1598 test box plugs directly to the Motronic control unit making it possible to access all of the control unit connections with just one device.

By taking the connector apart to connect a test adaptor you often eliminate the problem without knowing it. By using the VAG 1598 test box you can
identify an open connector without touching it.

Use the wiring diagram to select the correct terminals for performing measurements that formerly required dedicated adaptors.
