Fuel Shut-off Solenoid: Testing and Inspection

CIS-E III Control Unit Harness Connectors (Pin # Locations)

1.

Perform vehicle self diagnosis (display and record any fault codes), make any necessary repairs and clear fault code memory.

2.

With engine at normal operating temperature, install Audi electrical harness adapter #VW 1315A/1 between differential pressure regulator and its
harness connector.

3.

Connect DVM to adapter, set mode to DC milliamps 200mA scale.

4.

Turn ignition "on" and note reading on DVM.

Reading must show positive current, of not reverse connections to DVM. If there is no reading, check for:

a. Open circuit through differential pressure regulator. Check resistance through regulator, should be approx. 15-25 ohms. If not replace
