Power Steering Pump: Service and Repair
Removal and Installation

1.

Disconnect battery ground cable.

2.

Loosen drive belt adjusting bolt and swing pump downward, then remove drive belt.

3.

Remove power steering pump pulley.

4.

Disconnect pressure and suction hoses from pump.

5.

Remove pump to mounts attaching bolts, then remove pump.

6.

Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Tighten nuts and bolts to specifications.
c. Ensure mark ``5-Z'' is on outer face of pulley.
d. Prior to installing pump, fill suction side of pump with hydraulic oil and turn pump until oil comes out pressure port.
