Crankshaft Main Bearing Seal: Service and Repair

1.

Remove transmission from vehicle, refer to Transmission and Drivetrain/Automatic Transmission/Transaxle/Service and Repair.

2.

Mark flywheel with relationship to crankshaft, then remove flywheel.

3.

Using seal remover 2086 or equivalent, remove oil seal.

4.

Install oil seal using tool supplied in repair kit, remove installation tool and press oil seal in using seal installer 2003/1 or equivalent until fully
seated. Replacement seal is pre-coated, DO NOT lubricate.

5.

Align, then install flywheel. Always replace flywheel attaching bolts. Use AMV 188 100 02 locking compound or equivalent, on threads, then
tighten bolts to specification.

6.

Install transmission in vehicle.
