
WARNING | Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example to unplug the connector), the person concerned must „discharge static“, for instance by briefly grasping hold of the door striker plate. |

| Unscrew the nuts -2, 3-. |

| Detach the battery isolation igniter -4-. |
| –
| To do so, use a small screwdriver to release the connector locking element -5- and unplug the connector -1-. |

| Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following: |

Note | Make sure the connectors are pressed on as far as they will go and are heard to engage. |

WARNING | The battery must be connected with the ignition switched on. If pyrotechnic components (airbag, belt tensioner for example) are inexpertly repaired, this may result in unwanted triggering after connecting the battery. There must not be anyone in the vehicle when connecting the battery. |

| As a final step, interrogate the event recorder of the airbag control unit -J234- and deal with any faults → Vehicle diagnostic tester. |
