t  It is advisable to use genuine seat covers.
t  Use is never to be made of seat covers or loose covers not specially approved for use on Audi seats with side airbags.
t  The backrest foam fill is not to be cut away in the area of the side airbag.
t  On installation, the seam in the area of the side airbag must be straight.
t  All upholstery clips (metal and plastic clips) must be replaced.
t  It is advisable to use genuine clips only.
t  On installation, all clips must be fitted in the same positions as on removal.
t  If the cover is damaged (tears, burn marks, etc.) in the area of the side airbag, it is always to be replaced for safety reasons, as otherwise the side airbag will not inflate properly.
t  The backrest cover in the area of the side airbag is never to be repaired (on account of special thread and precisely defined seam).
t  Always replace the backrest padding after the side airbags have been triggered.
t  All damaged components must be replaced after an accident. The airbag unit can be re-used if there are no signs of damage.
t  If side airbag units are replaced, remove the airbag number sticker from the new unit and affix it over the old one on the seat pan.
t  Never pierce the cover in the area of the airbag and sensor mat with an upholstery needle or similar pointed objects.
