Removing and installing non-return valve
Removing and installing non-return valve
  Note
t  The non-return valve is fitted directly in front of the vacuum pump.
t  The vacuum pump does not have to be removed.
Removing
–  Use suitable pliers to release hose clip on vacuum hose.
–  Detach vacuum hose from vacuum pump for brakes -V192-.
  Caution
Take care not to damage the vacuum hose. The vacuum hose must be renewed if it is damaged.
–  Pull non-return valve out of vacuum hose.
Installing
–  Insert non-return valve in vacuum hose.
  Note
t  Pay attention to correct installation position.
t  The arrow indicating the flow direction points towards the vacuum pump.
t  To facilitate installation, moisten the non-return valve and vacuum hose slightly with water; do not use oil.
–  Fit new hose clip on vacuum hose.
  Caution
Take care not to damage the vacuum hose. The vacuum hose must be renewed if it is damaged.
–  Use suitable pliers to fasten hose clip.
  Caution
Make sure that the brakes work properly before the vehicle is driven on the road.
