Removing and installing flexible air distribution shaft - heater, manually controlled air conditioner
Removing and installing flexible air distribution shaft - heater, manually controlled air conditioner
   
Removing
–  Remove the glove compartment → Rep. gr.70.
–  If applicable, detach the cover panel -1- from the velcro strip.

–  Set the rotary vent direction control to the „windscreen/footwell“ position.
–  Press the retainer tab -arrow- and detach the flexible shaft -1- from the air distribution gear mechanism -2-.

–  Vehicles with heater: Pull the heater controls slightly out of the dash panel → Chapter.
  Note
One turn of the rotary heater/air conditioner control switch produces two turns of the flexible shaft.
–  Vehicles with manually controlled air conditioner: Pull the operating unit slightly out of the dash panel → Chapter.
–  Press -arrow A- the retainer -3- and detach -arrow B- the flexible shaft -4- from the operating unit -5-.
Installing
Install in reverse order, paying attention to the following:
  Note
Take care not to kink the flexible shaft, as this would necessitate replacement.
–  Install the operating unit: Heater → Chapter, manually controlled air conditioner → Chapter.
–  Fit the glove compartment → Rep. gr.70.
