| In the event of a fault in the air conditioner, start by reading out the event recorder of the operating unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- / air conditioning system control unit -J301- in the
„Guided fault-finding“ function → Vehicle diagnostic tester. |

| If no entry is displayed, read out the measured values of the operating unit, Climatronic control unit -J255- / air conditioning system control unit -J301- and actuate any problematic component by way of
„Final control diagnosis“ in the
„Guided fault-finding“ function → Vehicle diagnostic tester. |

| Electrical checking of the various control motors, potentiometers and senders is described in the
„Guided fault-finding“ function → Vehicle diagnostic tester. |

| The seat heating is not actuated via the Climatronic control unit -J255- / air conditioning system control unit -J301-, but rather by way of two separate buttons. Checking → Rep. gr.74. |

| On completion of repair work, perform the following operations on the operating unit, Climatronic control unit -J255-/ air conditioning system control unit -J301- in the
„Guided fault-finding“ function → Vehicle diagnostic tester: |

| Interrogate the event recorder and delete any entries displayed. |

| Check the encoding - automatically controlled air conditioner only. |
| –
| Check the adaption if applicable - automatically controlled air conditioner only. |
| –
| Perform basic setting - automatically controlled air conditioner only. |
